I know changes take a long time. I have mentioned before that our school is going through some major changes in personnel after the departure of our principal/vice-president of 22 years. Our president has authority to fill this position. He is taking his time and thoroughly thinking things through. These changes will affect everyone at all of our schools. His decision have the potential to reshape our school and change its direction for years to come.
One more week in this class and I can honestly say I have taken a lot away from this course. As I transition from technology into administration I will need these skills to be successful. This course came at the perfect time.
Yes, the Change Game is more difficult or frustrating than Monopoly. I too feel that with all the changes going on around us, I’ve learned a good deal about myself and the people that I work with. I just hope that I make fewer mistakes when working with the different personality types in real life. The Change Game, Monopoly, and other games are one thing, but life-changing decisions are where it’s at, like getting your new principal… new goals. Lenn
ReplyDeleteI also found the game extremely frustrating!! My school has gone through many changes this year also. We have all new administration, principal and both assistant principals, this year so lots of adjustments. It can be difficult and stressful, but lots of great new things have come out of it as well. Good Luck on your schools changes.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting a new principal next year too. We're hoping the grass will be greener with new leadership. We're beginning staff reductions this year which will continue if our enrollment doesn't stop decreasing. So many changes. But, too, so many opportunities for growth.
